This tip applies to Word 97, 2000, 2002, and 2003
If you are creating documents that are more than a page or two in length, you will probably want to include page numbers so you can keep your document, when printed, in order. Word supports automatic numbering of pages in your document and you can control the type of page number, the starting number, and the placement of the page number. In addition, you can include page numbers in the headers and footers on your pages. To add page numbers, follow these steps:
Figure 1. The Page Numbers dialog box.
Inserting page numbers in this way adds a frame to your header or footer, and the page number is contained within the frame.

I'm trying to add a page, but have a text box at the bottom of my document. I can't make the cursor stay at the bottom and the extra page keeps getting added to the top of the document. How do you add a page when there's a text box preventing the cursor from being at the end of the doc?

Word 2003 defaults page numbering to the right side. Is there a way to set it to default to center??
Thanks.
