Adding One More Line

Summary: It always seems to happen—you print a document and then discover that you should have included one more line of text at the end of the document. Here’s a way to print just that line, without redoing the entire page or the entire document. (This tip works with Microsoft Word 97, Word 2000, Word 2002, Word 2003, and Word 2007.)

Have you ever printed a document, reviewed it, and then wished you could add just one more line to the end of the document? Here's one easy way to do this:

  1. Add the new line at the end of the document.
  2. Save the document.
  3. Select all of the document prior to text that you added in step 1, and format it as white text.
  4. Put the last page of the printout in your printer. Make sure you orient it properly so it will feed through as you want.
  5. Print the last page of the document.

Since white text doesn't print, only the text you added in step 1 (the text you didn't format was white) is printed. When you are done, discard the document without saving.

Tip #3532 applies to Microsoft Word versions: 97 | 2000 | 2002 | 2003 | 2007
