Summary: Want to fill a drawing shape with more than just a color? Word allows you to use all sorts of fills, as described in this tip. (This tip works with Microsoft Word 97, Word 2000, Word 2002, Word 2003, and Word 2007.)
Word is not a specialized graphics program, but you can apply a few fancy effects to your drawing objects when you fill them with a color. To see the available effects, follow these steps if you are using a version of Word prior to Word 2007:

If you are using Word 2007, you know that it no longer has a Drawing toolbar. You can still fill a drawing object with different types of effects by following these steps:
