Jumping to a Section

Summary: Word provides the Go To tab of the Find and Replace dialog box, which allows you to jump to various places in your document. This tip provides specific instructions on how to jump to a different section of the document. (This tip works with Microsoft Word 97, Word 2000, Word 2002, and Word 2003.)

You can use the Go To function of Word to jump to a specific section in your document. Of course, this will only have value if you use multiple sections in your document. You can jump to a section by following these steps:

Choose Go To from the Edit menu, or press F5. You will see the Go To tab of the Find and Replace dialog box. (Click here to see a related figure.)
On the left side of the dialog box, make sure Section is selected.
If you just want to jump to the next section, you can simply click on Next.
In the Enter Section Number box, enter the section number.
Click on the Go To button.
