Jumping Between Fields

Summary: Fields allow you to insert all sorts of dynamic information in your document, but it is sometimes hard to figure out where they are. This tip presents a keyboard shortcut you can use to jump from one field to another in your document. (This tip works with Microsoft Word 97, Word 2000, Word 2002, and Word 2003.)

If you use fields in your documents, there may be times when you want to select the fields quickly. Word provides a way you can do this:

  • To jump forward to the next field in your document, press F11.
  • To jump backwards to the previous field in your document, press Shift+F11.

Tip #992 applies to Microsoft Word versions: 97 | 2000 | 2002 | 2003
